Meet the Babies

What is a 'technobaby'? A technobaby is a portmanteau of technological and baby used to describe the generations of psyches who are developing a technological fluency before a mastery of their own language or culture.

As queer third-culture kids, we share an impulse of reconstructing certain cycles while understanding they’re in perpetual motion. The technological-babies that excite us offer a simultaneous continuation and reclamation of history that has either been killed off or capitalized.

For queer people, the nature of domesticity has always been in flux.  We envision community and care of the future to hinge on the collaboration of found family in developing genuine trusting relationships to create home. We’re fascinated with the safety and security offered by a mid-century home dynamic without labelling it women’s work or prioritising the nuclear family.
